Saying goodbyes to the Yang family... I have to say, since we've been here, I've never felt so loved by strangers. All of the people associated with the KAM Center had studied our names, knew our faces and knew where we were from... They all were looking out for us from the beginning. The Yang family has done everything they could for me and have been extremely hospitable. All involved in the program have been so generous... I haven't spent a dime since I left the airport! All the snacks, coffees and things were all paid for by different members of the program.
One standout thing happened at the church which I felt I should have blogged about in the other entry... It was after several members of the church greeted us after second service. One ahjushi [Korean term for 'mister'] came up to us and told us that he loved us. In broken English, he said that he loved us because he has Korean blood, and that we have Korean blood... Even though none of us could even speak broken Korean, I was reminded that we are indeed Korean, and that this church loves us as so. Maybe it sounds kind of cliché typed out... But, I am touched thinking about it. The love here is what has made me feel so comfortable, like I could just stay here. There is much of it around...
